Veteran British female hard rockers GIRLSCHOOL have posted the following message on their official web site:

"It is with extreme sadness to tell you that Kelly Johnson [photo], original member of GIRLSCHOOL, passed away on Sunday the 15th of July after fighting a six-year battle with cancer of the spine."

Along with Johnson, the classic lineup of GIRLSCHOOL included Kim McAuliffe (guitar), Enid Williams (bass) and Denise Dufort (drums). The band was an integral and major force in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement, beginning with the release of its debut album, "Demolition" (1980), and continuing with the follow-up efforts, "Hit 'n' Run" (1981) and "Screaming Blue Murder" (1982).

Johnson originally left GIRLSCHOOL in 1984 after recording the band's fourth album, "Play Dirty", and moved to Los Angeles where she lived for the next 10 years. She rejoined GIRLSCHOOL in 1993 and moved back to the U.K. From 1993 until 2000 Kelly, Kim, Denise and Tracey Lamb
toured Europe and the USA and recorded a live album in March 1995. Kelly decided to quit the music business for good in 2000 after recording her final album with GIRLSCHOOL, "Not That Innocent: 21st Anniversary" (2001).

The official story goes like this: On the last night of Jim Morrison's life, the rocker went to a movie in Paris, listened to records, fell ill and died of heart failure in his bathtub at the age of 27. But rumors have always swirled around the death of The Doors frontman and, 36 years later, a former Paris nightclub manager is telling a different story.

In a new book, Sam Bernett says that Morrison died in a toilet stall of his club after what he believes was a heroin overdose.

Esti de cancer !!!

J`a eu peur de perdre ma blonde récemment a cause de quelque chose qui ressemblait dangereusement a ca......Thank God c`était pas son tour !
Le soulagement ressenti quand on t`apprend que ya pas de cancer........ca fait du bien et ca te change a jamais face a toutes ces morts plates la.

Ca prend du courage pour affronter ces affaires la et c`est tellement traitre comme maladie !!

Encore un coup dur, le cancer nous arrache l'homme du duo Mitsouko. La mort n'est pas une fin mais simplement la conclusion d'une vie, le triomphe d'avoir vecu et de toucher le coeur des gens.

J'ai toujours eu un faible pour les Mitsouko, pour cette creativité et cette douce folie. gelebindur

RIP le drummer de Jimi Hendrix & Band of Gypsys, monsieur B. Miles au jeune age de seulement 60 ans.
RIP le jeune prodige blues et jazz, Jeff Healey qui s'est battu toute sa vie contre un cancer qui l'a rendu aveugle a un an, il est parti a 41 ans.

Allez faire tourner le record de Hendrix Band of Gypsys (ou le DVD) et allez spinner du Jeff Healey (moi j'ai 'Cover to Cover' c'est delicieux).
